Centros Press Release
5th October 2009
Bury St Edmunds' arc continues to buck the trend by signing up four more retailers

Centros has signed up four more retailers for the arc shopping centre - all new to Bury St Edmunds and complementary to arc's strong fashion offer.  French natural beauty products store L'Occitane, designer hairdresser Rush Hair, funky milk bar Shakeaway and Apple computer specialist Stormfront have all taken space in arc and are now fitting out their units.

David Lewis, Associate Director of Centros, said: "Signing up these four new retailers and having them open for Christmas trading is great news and follows nicely on the back of the opening of the impressive new Waterstone's store a few days ago.  In addition, we've got lease agreements with two further retailers in solicitors' hands - leaving only six units remaining in which we already have retailers expressing interest.  This interest, during difficult times, reflects the strength of consumer demand in Bury St Edmunds as well as the quality of the scheme".

L'Occitane has taken a 1,115 sq ft unit opposite Topshop and Topman in Auction Street, one of arc's two new open shopping streets.  Stormfront's 1,075 sq ft unit is between Fat Face and Swarowski, also in Auction Street.  Rush Hair has taken 1,009 sq ft and Shakeaway 650 sq ft opposite H&M and Peacocks in Gosnold Street.

Cllr John Griffiths, Leader of St Edmundsbury Borough Council, said "Once again Bury St Edmunds is bucking the national economic trend with more shops opening up, which is great news for the town centre as a whole.  I am particularly pleased that these four shops are all new to the town, broadening the retail range still further and making Bury even more attractive as a destination".

Centros's retail letting agents are Jones Lang LaSalle, Knight Frank and Mason & Partners.
